DVDWeekend is a service of DVD TV NEWS, Inc. The company produces:
- DVDWeekend, the weekly tv news and information show about the latest DVD releases and home theater design;
- DVDWeekend.com, the online news, information, and entertainment source for home theater enthusiasts.
The company, based in Los Angeles, California, was founded by nine-time Emmy® winning television programmer-producers, David and Renee Sams. David Sams launched the OPRAH WINFREY SHOW while head of global marketing at King World. He also helped to turn WHEEL OF FORTUNE and JEOPARDY! into the two most-successful syndicated series of all time. Renee Sams heads numerous companies and is an anchor/reporter in Los Angeles. She also serves as Executive Producer/Co-Anchor of DVDWeekend, the television series.
Currently, DVDWeekend is seen on SuperStation WGN, as well as select stations
owned and operated by Tribune Broadcasting. The show is expected to roll-out into national syndication in late 2004.
Mindy Burbano-Stearns, KTLA's (Los Angeles) popular prime time entertainment news anchor/reporter, co-anchors DVDWeekend with Renee Sams.
